Into the Sea 04:41
A darkness has covered the moon, And there's something foul on the breeze, So I'll spend the night with a fear in my eyes, And the hair on my arms standing free. I saw someone out on the deck: A watchman withdrawn from his post. He held out a hand and said, "Sleep if you can." His face was as white as a ghost. He said: "Drink from this bottle. Its contents will keep you warm, And dull up your senses and blur up your eyes. Your mind will float off to some safe distant cloud, While your body's consumed by the dark." [Spooky synth] I drank from the bottle. Its contents were bitter. My senses went dull and my vision, it blurred. My head started spinning. My knees buckled under. I crumpled alone in the dark. I looked up into the sky, Imagined the watchman up there. He rode on a cloud, so unburdened and proud, As he steered that dark cloud through the air. I blinked my eyes and came to. The watchman went over the rail, And fell into the sea where the sharks wait to feed. His bottle sat empty and pale. [Spooky synth] I didn't listen when they told me clealy, That there's nothing good to be gained from this trip. I dreamt of adventure with my heart full of love, And my pockets so weighted with gold. The sharks are all grinning. They hunger for sailors, Who fall into the water with guts filled with rum. The sharks are all grinning. They hunger for sailors, Who fall into the water with guts filled with rum.

Its head broke the water before the sun set, Its neck like a tower, its face dripping wet. It gazed down upon us. Its horns broke the clouds. It bellowed so loudly, such a terrible sound. I was not prepared, for I was still young. I had not yet accepted that everyone dies. Yeah, everyone dies. Yeah, everyone dies. And I couldn't run from my impending demise. So I closed my eyes. Yeah, I closed my eyes. Yeah, I closed my eyes, As I waited for my impending demise. [Off-key whistling + warbling guitar solo] Its body submerged, and its head turned away. It would not feast upon us, at least not that day. But we can't forget that we're chained to our fate, And we have to accept that we'll never be safe. No, we'll never be safe. No, we'll never be safe, Because everyone dies. It'll happen some day. No, we'll never be safe. No, we'll never be safe, Because everyone dies. It'll happen some day.
